MyCaloriesSnap ("the App") is published by Radiant Solutions. This policy explains what data the App collects, where it goes, and what you control.
Your logged food entries, daily goals, and favorite foods are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. They are not uploaded to, or stored on, any server we operate. If you delete the App, this data is deleted with it.
Your Gemini API key is stored locally on your device in the iOS Keychain. Your chosen Gemini model and app preferences (such as the time-of-day background setting) are stored locally in Apple's standard app preferences storage.
If you grant permission, MyCaloriesSnap reads the following from the Health app: body mass, BMI, body fat percentage, lean body mass, height, waist circumference, active and resting (basal) energy burned, step count, walking/running and cycling distance, flights climbed, exercise and stand time, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, walking heart rate average, sleep analysis, workouts, and dietary energy/carbohydrates/fat/protein/fiber/water/sodium/sugar/caffeine that other apps have logged.
MyCaloriesSnap writes the following to the Health app when you log food: dietary energy (calories), carbohydrates, fat, and protein.
This data stays within Apple's HealthKit framework on your device and is only shared with other apps or services if you separately authorize them through the Health app. We do not receive a copy of your Health data on any server — we don't have a server.
MyCaloriesSnap uses your own Google Gemini API key for four optional features. If you use them, the following is sent to Google's Gemini API over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection:
None of these features require your Health data, your logged food history, or any other app data to be sent — only what's described above, and only when you actively use one of these features. Manual entry and barcode scanning work fully without a Gemini key and never contact Google.
This data is subject to Google's own privacy policy and terms for the Gemini API (ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms). We do not control how Google stores or processes this data once it is sent. Because you supply your own API key, these requests are billed to and associated with your own Google account, not ours.
Voice logging uses Apple's on-device Speech framework to transcribe what you say into text before it is sent to Gemini for parsing. Depending on your device and settings, this transcription may be processed on-device or sent to Apple's servers, subject to Apple's privacy policy.
When you scan a barcode, the scanned barcode number is sent to the free, open Open Food Facts database to look up the product. No account, API key, or other personal data is sent — only the barcode number.
You can delete individual food entries, clear your saved Gemini API key, or delete the App entirely to remove all locally stored data. HealthKit permissions can be reviewed or revoked at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → MyCaloriesSnap.
Calorie and macro values from AI photo analysis, voice logging, and search are estimates, not medical or dietary advice. MyCaloriesSnap is a personal tracking tool, not a substitute for guidance from a doctor, dietitian, or other qualified professional.
MyCaloriesSnap is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 13.
